The General Council of Spanish Lawyers demands to extend the measures in the judicial field adopted on the occasion of the DANA that end this Sunday.
In a statement issued this Friday, the Lawyers’ Office requests that the extension of the suspension of administrative and procedural accusations and deadlines be extended, at least, one more week in all judicial districts affected by DANA in Valencia.
“Neither the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) nor the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) have planned its extension beyond the aforementioned judicial district (Catarroja), so the rest of the areas must return to normality next Monday,” they denounce.
For the General Council of the Legal Profession, this decision puts the safeguarding of citizens’ rights in “serious danger” given the impossibility of many lawyersin charge of their defense, can work with a minimum of working conditions, which have not yet been able to be restored since many offices are seriously affected.
For this reason, the Legal Profession shows its most absolute rejection of this decision, “lacking all logic and sense.”
