The tribute began moments before the start of the match, even before that minute of silence decreed by UEFA in all European matches, when the ‘fan stands’ sang the tenth anthem at the top of their lungs with an imposing banner: “Valencia is all of us.”
That same phrase shined even brighter on the special t-shirts that each and every one of the players wore, in Spanish and Italian, as they exited the locker room tunnel.
The climax would come later, with a huge flag of the Valencian Community taken off from one of the side stands of the stadium andThe unanimous applause of all the fans before the minute of silence.
It is worth remembering that Real Madrid was one of the first sports entities to turn to those affected with the sending of one million euros of aid.
