Dozens of neighbors in Catarroja, a Valencian municipality near Paiporta, tried to rescue a woman who was being swept away by the flood. They threw sheets at him from his windows so he could hold on, but the images circulating on social networks seemed to predict that the speed of the water had made it impossible. Fortunately, that was not the case: she is alive. Her sister, María, explained this Wednesday on the program ‘Y Ahora Sónsoles’ that the woman has survived thanks to the fact that a person extended a hand to her and was able to pull her out of the water. “An arm appeared and that’s when a man rescued her,” he said. This video, which went viral on social networks, showed some of the most dramatic images of DANA. According to María, her sister came home after work and when she saw that there was about a foot of water in the street and people were taking their cars out of the garage, she thought about taking hers out: “She told my brother-in-law “I was going to take out the van, lest it be flooded.” At the moment she went to look for the vehicle, the waterspout came and swept her away. “She lost her cell phone, her keys… and the little I was able to talk to her, she told me: ‘I felt like I was going to die at that moment,'” she said. María immediately recognized her sister in the video. . “I have a special connection with her and I knew it,” he said. And through tears he thanked the person who saved his life: “I hope one day to meet that man, because he saved my sister’s life, if it hadn’t been for him, I wouldn’t be telling it right now.”
