The King has also thanked “in a special way the innumerable actions of all those who have sought to maintain or reestablish basic public services, the attention of city councils or social services.”
At the ‘First Meeting of Ibero-American Cities’, during an event that he presided over and in which initially the King was not going to intervene, he used this speaker, to, “in these moments of desolation”“reexpress and transmit” in the name of the Queen, yours and that of the entire Royal Family, your “most sincere condolences to the families of the deceased”, in addition to your “deep solidarity and closeness, both to them and to all those affected by this terrible and catastrophic DANA that has devastated so many towns and places in our country; especially in the east and south, affecting numerous areas of the Valencian Community, Andalusia and Castilla La Mancha.

Don Felipe has also recognized “with gratitude and admiration”to all the rescue teams and emergency services (autonomous and state, civil, police and military) who, “in an unprecedented operation, also in the face of the disaster, in its dimension, have worked – and continue to do so – in a coordinated manner , integrated, with great professionalism, effort and dedication from the first moment and in these very complex conditions.
Early in the morning, from the Zarzuela Palace they reported that Felipe VI has instructed his House Security Service and the Royal Guard to place all the necessary troops at the disposal of the Government to help in areas affected by the passage of the DANA.
The King has requested that these troops be put at the service of “the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense to collaborate in the tasks being carried out by the State Security Forces and Bodies and the UME.”
In compliance with the three days of national mourning decreed by the Government since midnight this Thursday, a black ribbon heads the website of the King’s House and the national flag that presides over the offices of the Zarzuela Palace flies at half-mast.
The King already expressed his condolences the day before for the nearly 100 deaths that the storm has left behind in the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia and asked that the emergency teams be allowed to work.
