On Friday of last week, when the editor of the Washington Post (WP) announced that the newspaper was renouncing to endorse either of the two candidates for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump had an interview with the executives of Blue Origin, the company owned by Jeff Bezos, which is in turn the owner of WP.
This was not a mere coincidence or that Trump and Bezos were caught doing something they would have preferred to keep secret. Quite the opposite. I don’t know about Bezos, but for Trump, the value of that coincidence is that it was made public. Because with this Trump made visible what he has been postulating since he decided to run for election in 2016 and, especially, since he was elected president of the United States: his prevalence over the rule of law and the democratic order.
