The political organizations that signed the mandate pact in the Avilés City Council, the PSOE and Cambia Avilés (IU and Podemos), have ratified this Wednesday their commitment to reinforce and continue working towards compliance with the agreement that in June 2023 gave rise to the current one. coalition government.
This commitment has been reflected in the tax ordinances approved by the plenary session last Monday and will also be reflected in the general budget for the next year, which will be presented tomorrow, Thursday, by the Councilor for the Treasury, Raquel Ruiz, the signatories have explained in a joint statement.
Next year’s accounts will include an item of 90,000 euros that will provide the Municipal Auxiliary Services Company with the necessary structure to make possible the direct management of municipal concierge services, which was one of the demands of Cambia Avilés.
In addition, the mayor, Mariví Monteserín, has requested the necessary reports to compile the conditions of assignment of the cleaning of municipal buildings and the performance by the Auxiliary Services Company of maintenance tasks, as well as the pertinent modification of its statutes to expand its current scope.
The objective of the Aviles Government is to incorporate, at least, the cleaning tasks of the sports and cultural foundations to the Municipal Auxiliary Services Company in the current mandate.
Likewise, once the stabilization of the municipal workforce is completed, it is time to eliminate the clause in the Agreement Regulating Working Conditions that prevents the City Council from developing Employment Plans.
The Aviles Government will also intensify negotiations for the transfer of the Niemeyer Center parking lot to the City Council.
The general secretary of the PSOE of Avilés, Luis Fernández Huerga, has indicated that the reflection in recent weeks on the path traveled in almost a year and a half will allow Avilés to continue to have a government that is useful to citizens “and strong in making decisions and taking advantage of opportunities, and stable.”
For his part, the general coordinator of IU de Avilés, Juanjo Fernández, has shown his satisfaction with an agreement, “which has once again demonstrated that, despite the differences, the Avilés left is capable of dialogue and understanding to consolidate the city a progressive government, which is already being very useful to promote economic development and social cohesion.”
The spokesperson for Podemos, David García, has advanced that the next municipal budgets will be “very progressive” and will address the biggest problems that affect the people of Aviles such as housing and social services, “with the ultimate objective of leaving no one behind.” .
