The King is today in the Gando Air Base, in Gran Canaria, in an exercise by the Air and Space Army, but it is not ruled out that in the next few hours there will be changes in his agenda so that he and the Queen can go to the affected areas.
From Gando, the King wanted to “publicly express” his “desolation and concern at the tragedy that can still continue to generate in a very large part of the country.” «The main thing is to express the condolences and sadness for so many loss of human life“, stated the King, while adding that “there has been enormous destruction of infrastructure and property of many people.”
“There are still difficulties in access to many locations, so there is no complete information on the scope, the effects and even the possible victims,” declared Don Felipe. “It reassures me to know that all available means are made available to those affected. All the resources of the State are working and the important thing is to let them work, to let them do what they know how to do well in a coordinated manner and also to keep as many people who may still be affected on alert,” he explained.
“Together with the Queen we want to convey our condolences to all the affected families who have lost loved ones and who still do not know what has happened to their relatives,” said the King.
Don Felipe has stated that he is in contact with the President of the Government and with the presidents of the autonomous communities and that he will be able to have a conference from the Gando air base to have a more detailed knowledge of what is happening.

Our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the more than 50 deceased. Strength, encouragement and all the support necessary for all those affected,” they expressed this morning, after a first toll of 51 deaths was released in the province of Valencia as a result of the storm.
The Head of State has also recognized the “titanic work” that all the emergency services, in addition to the Armed Forces and State Security Forces and Bodies, have been carrying out “from the very beginning.”
