A new single with Liam Paynethe former One Direction singer who died earlier this month after falling from his hotel room in Buenos Aires, will go on sale on Friday, according to American singer and songwriter Sam Pounds.
Announcing the upcoming release, Pounds said he hoped the track, titled ‘Do No Wrong’, would be “a blessing to the world”, including Payne’s grieving family.
“I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes,” he posted on social media, alongside a black and white illustration of the single featuring a winged angel rising toward a broken heart.
“I pray that the supernatural power of positive healing embraces each and every one of you,” Pounds added.
Payne was found dead on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his room on the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel in the Argentine capital. His death, aged 31, sparked a global outpouring of grief and condolences from family, former bandmates, fans and others.
Hotel staff had called emergency services on two occasions to report that a guest “overwhelmed by drugs and alcohol” was “trashing up” the hotel room. Payne had spoken publicly about his fight against substance abuse and his problems with fame at a young age.
