This Tuesday, the plenary session of the Madrid City Council was characterized by accusations between the groups with moments of tension and with the accusation of the PP against the PSOE spokesperson, Reyes Maroto, who allegedly said that The mayor has a “clown face”.
The Plenary Session began marked by the accusations against the former deputy Íñigo Errejónalthough it was not on the agenda, and a crossing of accusations from Más Madrid and PSOE against Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida.
In this context, the popular ones accused Maroto of saying: “The mayor’s clown face.” The events would have occurred when the secretary of the Plenary was reading the statement of a point, the president of the Plenary, Borja Fanjul, asked the councilors for silence several times and He called popular councilor Carlos Segura to order. “Shut up,” Fanjul even said to one of the councilors.
At that moment, the popular bench stood up looking towards the socialists, located in front, in the middle of a hubbub. “I cannot tolerate that Mrs. Maroto has said the clown face that the mayor has,” said Almeida, who apologized to the socialist spokesperson.
Fanjul tried to control the moment and claimed not to have heard what Maroto had said, to which Almeida replied: “We heard him pointing his finger at me and saying what a clown’s face the mayor has, I’m limiting myself to ask Maroto to rectify».
When asked if the spokesperson was going to apologize, she replied “asking the mayor to rectify” that she is “full of corruption.” Fanjul insisted on whether Maroto was going to apologize “for the insult” directed at the mayor, to which the socialist remained silent.
