The former mayor of Barcelona, ​​Ada Colau, has denounced that the Israeli army attacked this Tuesday the convoy in which he was traveling together with the Comuns MEP, Jaume Asens, in the surroundings of Nablus, in the West Bank.

“We have accompanied farmers who were simply trying to pick olives, but soldiers from the Israeli army arrived and without saying a word, without trying to talk to anyone at all, they started to shoot a lot of tear gas indiscriminatelyeven at the height of people’s faces. They have also launched sound bombs indiscriminately,” he denounced in a video on social networks.

“Now they have detained a farmer and a journalist, they have separated them from the group of the international delegation and the Human Rights volunteers who are here. This is unacceptable and violates all international law.. It is intolerable that the international community takes a stand, that’s why many activists are here,” stressed Colau, who warned that he will continue in the West Bank: “We are not going to leave, we are going to continue accompanying these Palestinian families.”

Jaume Asens has also denounced the attack on his social networks: “The Israeli army has launched tear gas against our delegation of Human Rights while we accompanied Palestinians in the olive harvest,” he denounced on social networks.

“Now we are in a situation of tense calm. A while ago the army arrived and fired deafening bullets and tear gas“, not only against the peasants, but also against the international delegation, without saying anything,” explains Asens in a video recorded from the scene of the events, the fields of Qusra, a rural area near the West Bank city of Nablus.
