At least 55 people have been killed and dozens injured by an Israeli bombardment on a residential building in northern Gaza, in the city of Beit Lahia. According to Reuters, citing the Palestinian emergency service, there could be more victims trapped under the rubble.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa claims that, according to medical sources, many of those killed in the attack were women and children. For now, the Israeli army has not commented.
The Palestinian emergency service explains that it has had to stop its operations due to the siege by the Israeli army in the north of the Strip for the last three weeks. At the beginning of the war, Israel claimed that it had wiped out all of Hamas’ fighting forces, even though it has continued to conduct operations in the area throughout the year.
Since the beginning of the conflict, on October 7, 43,020 people have died in Gaza due to the Israeli offensive, and 101,110 have been injured, according to figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health.
