This Monday, the Chatelet Theater in Paris hosts the 2024 Ballon d’Or (Ballon d’Or) gala, an event in which the new kings of world football will be crowned.
This event, co-organized by UEFA and Groupe Amaury, owner of France Football, awards the highest individual awards year after year. And although the most desired trophies are the best male and female player, other categories are also awarded:
- the Kopa Trophy, for the best young player of the season under 21 years of age
- the Yashin Trophy, for the best goalkeeper of the season,
- the Socrates Award, awarded to a player who participates in social projects and charitable activities,
- the Gerd Müller Trophy, awarded to the top scorer of the season,
- the Club Trophy of the year (men and women),
- the Coach of the season Trophy (men and women),
- the Ballon d’Or (male and female).
All names will be revealed from the 8:45 p.m.during a ceremony led by the legendary Chelsea forward Didier Drogba and the French journalist Sandy Heribert. However, the big appointments will have to wait, since the winners of the women’s and men’s Ballon d’Or will be known between 10:10 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. In Spain, the event can be seen live through Movistar+.
