In a statement, Salud y Consumo has reported that the investigations carried out following the previous statement of October 17 on a specific batch of the liquid whole egg product have been expanded, both due to the own company as well as through official controls.
Following this, the Ministry has decided, in accordance with the precautionary principle and to maintain a high level of consumer health protection, to withdraw all batches of the pasteurized whole egg product that are currently found. within its useful life on the market as well as two batches of the pasteurized homogenized liquid yolk product, both from the Ovopack brand.
Likewise, the food company involved, as a precaution and following the recommendation of the health authority, has informed the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs that it will proceed to remove the rest of the batches of your products in its different formats that are on the market while investigations continue.
This information has been transmitted to the Food Safety and Nutrition Agency through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange as extension of the previous food alert regarding the presence of salmonella in the pasteurized liquid whole egg product of the Ovopack brand.
The data of the products involved They are: Pasteurized liquid whole egg and pasteurized homogenized liquid yolk in brick, with batch number ending all after 11,141 of pasteurized liquid whole egg and batches 29,066 and 29,067 of pasteurized homogenized liquid yolk.
According to the current information available, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Catalonia, Extremadura, Valencia, Galicia, Castilla La Mancha, Murcia, Madrid, Canary Islands and Portugal, although it is not ruled out that there may be distributions or redistributions to other autonomous communities.
