These are the notes of the Real Madrid players after the heavy defeat against Barça in the first league classic of the season.
5. Lunin. Beaten.
The goalkeeper returned to the eleven due to Courtois’ injury and saved a one-on-one match against Lamine Yamal. He could have done more on Lewandowski’s first goal. He ended up beaten on his return.
3. Lucas Vázquez. Slow.
He tied Raphinha short for almost the entire game. But in the final stretch the Brazilian caused a goal and scored another. In the second he was slow and was portrayed by the speed of his rival.
4 Rüdiger. Messy.
The man I was supposed to mark last night scored two goals. In the second goal he fell asleep and was responsible for Lewandowski’s shot. His physique allows him to hide serious mistakes.
5. Military. Authoritarian.
The Brazilian was expeditious in his actions and avoided several clear chances for Barça. The best back of the whites, he did not understand Rüdiger to stop Lewandowski in the second goal.
3. Mendy. She had to dance with Lamine Yamal and had a day to forget. He lost too many important balls. But he also broke the offside in Lewandowski’s first goal.
5. Tchouaméni. Wall.
He fulfilled his role of covering Fermín’s entries through the middle and was used harshly on many occasions. His presence allowed his team to have greater balance.
7. Camavinga. Concentrated.
He provided physical capacity in the recovery and judgment in the start. In addition, he added arrival from the left wing. His intensity was a problem for Barça during the first half.
5. Valverde. Content.
His team’s direct play prevented him from combining in the middle. His position next to Tchouaméni prohibited him from running into space, his greatest virtue. He had no influence on the game.
4. Bellingham. Lost.
He started again from the right, a position in which he is not comfortable. He didn’t come into play and when he did he missed controls and easy passes for him. He missed a very clear chance with 0-2.
4. Vinícius. Effervescent.
His energy infected his teammates and he was the offensive engine of his team, but he was very unwise. In the first half he missed a very clear chance. Koundé made his night bitter.
3. Mbappé. Advanced.
He was offside on up to six occasions in the first half alone. He celebrated a goal that was disallowed. In the second he remained permanently offside.
5. Modric. Sane.
They came in at 0-2 and provided peace of mind, but did not find space to play their game.
4. Brahim. Braking.
His presence should have allowed his team to arrive more clearly, but it could not be decisive.
(-). Fran Garcia
5 Inconsequential He came out in place of a Mendy who did not have his day.
