The risks of bacteria in food
The listeria is a bacteria that can be especially dangerous for human health, since it is capable of developing and survive in different environmental conditionsincluding low cooling temperatures. This makes it a significant threat to certain groups of people. Those with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, newborns and the elderly are lthose most susceptible to serious complications derived from this infection.
Alert for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in 2 products: cooked hands and pre-cooked pork feet.
Do not consume— AESAN (@AESAN_gob_es) October 25, 2024
Symptoms of listeriosis can include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, which are often easily confused with the flu. However, when it affects people in vulnerable situations, the disease can evolve and have much more serious effects, even causing death in some cases.
Given this situation, AESAN reminds consumers the importance of following food safety recommendationsespecially in the case of vacuum-packaged products that could present additional risks in case of contamination.
