The Spanish economy maintains the pulse of the labor market with a historical maximum of employment in the second quarter of 2024, in which 21.82 million employed people were reached after 138,300 new jobs were created. A figure, however, that is 33% lower than that registered in the same period last year, when the increase was 209,100 new jobs, 70,800 more than in the current year. Not in vain, despite the slowdown, the quarterly balance shown by the Active Population Survey for this historically positive period due to the attendance of a good part of the tourist season leaves a positive image in general terms.
