When leaders lose their compass

A few years ago I met a left-wing leader who spent the day absorbed with his cell phone. He used the device at all times, whether in meetings, walking down the street or even at rallies when he was not speaking. This behavior, which could seem like some type of addiction without substance, hid something politically sinister: that toxic relationship with the cell phone was conditioning the leader’s own vision in a very intense way.

I’m not trying to demonize technology. per se. The problem is that this person used his cell phone to frequent social networks in search of signs that would tell him if he was doing it right or wrong. I have not seen this in a single leader, but in many. In fact, I would say that this description is quite adjusted to the behavior of the current political class. Many may not write their own messages, but from my experience I can affirm that the majority do visit the networks as readers.
