Employers and unions reach an agreement that calls off the road freight transport strike

The Spanish Confederation of Freight Transport (CETM) announced tonight that it has reached an agreement with the CCOO and UGT unions during a meeting at the headquarters of the Interconfederal Mediation and Arbitration Service (SIMA), which means the call for the strike of professional drivers that was going to start next Monday, October 28.

The freight transport employers’ association has reported the agreement reached in a statement, in which it has not explained the agreed details, which will be communicated this Friday. Behind this labor conflict was the attempt to advance the retirement age of professionals in the sector.

The strike was going to begin next Monday, October 28, and had also been called for November 11, 28 and 29; December 5 and 9 and indefinitely starting December 23.

Pending the agreement is the area of ​​passenger transport, whose negotiation will experience its decisive day this Friday.
