The first information about his autopsy speaks of a dangerous drug cocktail which would have caused Payne to be unconscious as he fell into the void. The news, which left the world and his fans in suspense, caught his girlfriend miles away, Kate Cassidywho accompanied him on the trip to Argentina but had returned to the United Kingdom a few days before.
Now, Cassidy has broken her silence through a devastating letter on his social networks, in which he says goodbye to the artist: «I don’t even know where to start. “My heart is broken in ways I cannot explain with words,” the letter begins.
«I wish you could see the enormous impact you have had on the world, even when everything feels so dark. You filled us all with happiness and positivity: millions of fans, your family, your friends, and especially me. We all love you very much. You are (because I can’t say ‘were’), my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone who knew you felt as special as I did. Your energy was contagious, brightening up any place you entered. None of this seems real and I can’t get used to this new reality of you not being here. It’s hard for me to live without having you by my side. “Together, we were children again, always finding joy in the small things,” he continues.

«Liam, you had the kindest soul and the most loving and fun spirit. I feel like I’ve lost the best part of myself. I can’t imagine a day without your laughter and your love. “You filled my life with light,” Cassidy wrote.
At the end of his letter, he confesses that They intended to walk to the altar: «A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful afternoon, manifesting our life together. I keep your note, even though you told me not to look at it.
