The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusohas defended that mestizaje means “being equal, no more and no less”, that “the best work” of Spain was Hispanidad and that “any culture would give anything to have what we have.”
«I believe that when a nation is not capable of knowing its past and lets itself be carried away by dictatorships and populism“, tends to present to new generations a vision that manifests what has been,” he said this Monday at the 1st Hispanic Influence Awards gala, held at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Ayuso has pointed out that “it is easy to destroy” but “building is something else.” «Although sometimes it is not the easiest path, I believe that you always have to choose the most difficult path. Because, like everything in life, what costs is appreciated more,” he stressed.
«Madrid is the home of all those who seek prosperity, freedom and, most importantly, where all accents fit. Each one has their own wonderful accent. Here we are going to continue advocating for all this work that unites us and we will always defend this fraternal union, as well as the strength of this centuries-old culturewhich today seduces everyone,” concluded the Madrid leader.
The first edition of the Hispanic Influence Awards has presented ten awards, among which the Honorary Award to the Venezuelan businessman and politician Leopoldo López Gil has stood out.
In addition, the national coach, Luis de la Fuente, has been recognized; the producer Enrique Cerezo; chef Mario Sandoval; the designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, and the Casa México Foundation. Likewise, the singers from Azúcar Moreno have received this distinction; the lawyer Javier Cremades; the motor racing driver Tatiana Calderón, and the communicator Marcela Gómez.
