A friend of those accused of the crime of Samuel Luiz assured this Monday that that night “yes, “You heard a fucking faggot” and he believes “that everyone heard that.”
The first section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña has hosted a new session of the process against five adults for the case of the death of Samuel Luiz on July 3, 2021, in which the Prosecutor’s Office requests sentences of between 22 and 27 years in prison.
One of the witnesses of this day, who has identified himself as an acquaintance of the five accused, with whom he had met that night, has reported that Diego Montaña started the attack because “he was upset,” he shouted. “I’m going to kill you, you fucking faggot” and suddenly he saw “many people pushing each other (…) many people throwing many blows.”
“Yes, it sounded like a shitty faggot and I think everyone heard that,” he stated and said that, in his opinion, Catherine Silva – Diego Montaña’s partner at the time – He got in to “separate.”
Regarding the participation of Alejandro Míguez, he has clarified that he told him that he had had “a struggle with a black man,” in reference to one of the Senegalese who helped Samuel Luizand this one “had to stop”.
Hours later, Alejandro Freire, alias Yumba, said that he had to “defend himself” and Marco Figueras – one of those who were minors at the time and has already been convicted along with David Rodríguez – confessed that they had “killed” him.
Asked about the discussion between Diego Montaña and Catherine Silva in which she reproached him for his actions, he confirmed it, although with a clarification: “But when I was leaving, they were already hugging each other,” he stated.
The woman who was then partner of Kaio Amaral Silva has declared that this “he tried to separate them” and has linked Diego Montaña to the fatal beating, although only in the initial moments, and from then on only to Alejandro Freire and the two convicted minors.
Regarding her ex-boyfriend, she said that she never saw him pick up the victim’s phone – which is why the Prosecutor’s Office is asking for another five years in prison – and about Catherine Silva, she said that she saw her grab a friend of the victim by the arm, to which the latter “fell”.
Another witness, known to everyone, has remembered almost no details of the day, except that Yumba had consumed cocaine. On this day there has been a witness who has not appeared – he was summoned on Friday, when he did appear, but his statement was postponed – and he has been fined 600 euros and a summons for October 29, which if he does not comply he will have an arrest warrant and will be charged with obstruction of justice.
