Google has announced that it has expanded the Gemini Live voice chat tool on Android phones to Spanish from Spain, so that more users can chat, collaborate and benefit from conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) in different languages.
Google announced that Gemini Live had reached all Android device users for free last September, but then it only had support for English. Later, the firm expanded it to five other languages, including Spanish in Latin American countries.
Now the brand has confirmed that Gemini Live can now be used in Spanish from Spain on all Android devices, and with this users can chat, collaborate and connect “to more apps than ever”, according to a press release. It is possible to add a second language to those available for use with a maximum of two with Gemini Live.
You can easily set your preferred languages in the Google app:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app and at the top tap your profile photo or initials.
- Tap Settings > Google Assistant > Languages.
- Choose Spanish or any other available language.
- Optionally, you can add a second language from those available. For now, you can select and use a maximum of two languages with Gemini Live.
The company has also clarified that, since they can Using extensions directly with Gemini, users can do more with Google apps and services, like Gmail, Maps or YouTube. These allow you to obtain from them the information you need “to do things faster and easier”, in the words of the Group Product Manager of Gemini experiences, Jules Walter.

Recently, Google has expanded English functionality to connect AI with other Google tools, such as Calendar, Tasks, Keep, and Utilities. However, it plans to expand its tool to more of these ‘apps’.
