In addition to the lack of knowledge that experts recognize that exists among citizens, one of the reasons that most slows down heat pump installation to replace traditional heating systems is the higher price What do you have to buy one? gas boiler. To minimize this expense, there are tax deductions which give better treatment to entire neighboring buildings or single-family homes, such as chalets, compared to individual apartments within a property. However, also there are also other instruments individual benefit, such as discounts through the CAE system of the Ministry of Ecological Transition or through incentive plans like the one just released Iberdrolawhich brings together and expands all possible discounts to try to close the price gap with the gas boiler.
This Monday is celebrated ‘heat pump day‘-“The Heat Pump Day“, with dissemination activities in different cities in Europe, including Madrid – in a context of stoppage and drop in the pace of installation in some of the EU countries that had the best progression, such as France, Italy or Denmark. As in Germany, in Spain the pace has increased slightly, although still in very modest numbers because In 2022, 195,000 units will be sold and there was a heat pump in 9.8 of every 1,000 homes, compared to the 621,000 that were sold in France or more than half a million in Italy.
FIGURES and what is it?
Deduction from 9,000 to 3,000 euros
The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) considers that the sales drop in Europe – from up to 47% in the first half of this year compared to last year – has been largely due to an erratic policy of tax credits in the most affected countries which, in Spain, continue to be a tool with which the neighbors between 3,000 and 9,000 can be deducted from the initial investmentwhich to install aerothermal heating in an apartment of up to 80 square meters would be about 12,000 euros.
However, not all types of housing have the same level of help with this deduction program, which incentivizes entire buildings, whether single-family homes or neighborhood communities, more intensely than individual apartments within them. Thus, for the first, the deduction is 60% on the initial investment up to a limit of 9,000 euros, which is effective over three fiscal years, with a limit of 3,000 in each of them. In the event that it is a single neighbor inside a residential building, whoever wants to install aerothermal energy, the deduction is less, 40% and up to a maximum of 3,000 euros.
What both the entire buildings and the chalets with the apartments do have in common is the process to access this bonus, presented to the IDAE. two efficiency certificates, one before and one after of the installation of the heat pump -and, where appropriate, the underfloor heating, for example, if you want to make it more effective than with radiators-, so that it is clear that the energy efficiencywhich is what the Government tries to prioritize with this tool, to achieve in 2030 the ambitious objective of having improved by 43% a parameter that implies that a lower energy use maintain or increase the economic activity or, in the case of homes, a temperature comfortable.
2,000 euros less in CAEs
But tax incentives are not the only method that homes and businesses have to reduce the installation of a heat pump. Last year, the call began to operate Energy Savings Certificate System (CAE)which is a way to reduce the monetary contributions that large energy companies have to make to the National Energy Efficiency Fund (FNEEE) by creating a discount chain which has its starting point in each home and its unit of measurement in the CAE, equivalent to one euro and which is generated every time the owner of a house or a community of neighbors decides to carry out works to improve energy efficiency and do so with a company or an intermediary with the power to issue it. They can be obtained and, with them, the consequent discounts, changing windows, buying appliances more efficient or installing a heat pump and, for example, underfloor heating, thanks to the fact that the installer will in turn resell these CAE to large companies that must make contributions to the FNEEE, which, in this way, see their contribution with this payment ‘in kind’ reduced. .
Until now, Ecological Transition has not given a figure on these savings because the CAE system has just been launched in Spain, unlike France, a pioneering country that has even developed an index. However, Iberdrola -company that contributes to FNEEE- has just published an approximation of the savings under this system for installing a heat pump and offers 2,000 euros discount in the action plan that brings together the different discounts that exist and their management.
Discounts of between half and two thirds
Coinciding with heat pump day, the company launched an action plan this Monday that brings together different own and third-party discounts as well as its processing to make the replacement of gas boilers with heat pumps more attractive.
It brings together the Government’s tax deductions, the direct discount on the purchase price of 2,000 euros under the CAE System and adds another direct discount of 1,000 euros through its boiler renewal plan, only available until end of this year. Finally, it offers a bonus of 800 euros on the invoice of electricity if your Aerotermia Smart solution is contracted.
According to company projections, all these elements can make a investment in aerothermal energy of 12,000 euros for an apartment of up to 80 square meters is finally in 5,200 euros or go from 15,000 to 4,000 in the case of a single-family house of 200 square meters.
The offer is completed with a financing plan from 12 months without interest up to 10 years of the cost of the installation and a specific electricity rate for those who have aerothermal heating, which it launched in August and which, through artificial intelligence, calculates the eight hours of highest consumption in each home to apply a 40% discount to them.
