The Consell wants extend the useful life of the Cofrentes nuclear power plant beyond what the state plan dictates: 2030. Cofrentes supplies 45% of all the energy consumed by the Community and there are not enough renewables capable of replacing this installation in the near future. And this means more expensive energy, both for companies and individuals.
What has been the opposition’s response? Well, this advertisement is nothing more than a smokescreen of Carlos Mazón to divert attention from the conviction of Eduardo Zaplana. That, if it remains open, furthermore, Cofrentes may end up like Fukushima. There it is nothing.
Mazón’s proposal makes complete sense, but cannot present itself as nuclear energy or chaos. There will be some middle ground, I think. In the same way, the opposition will have its reasons, although its speeches on these topics are increasingly monolithic and are presented as an “ecological and just transition” or chaos. The left is becoming more dogmatic every day.
There will be no agreements between the parties in this either.just like in immigration or housing. It gives the impression that more work is done to divide than to generate consensus. For example, it is clear that we face a challenge with immigration, but the solution cannot be opening the doors to everyone or mass deportations and detention centers, whether abroad or in national airports.
The same thing happens with access to housing that so many owners offer in both senses. Nothing is going to be fixed with more taxes, limits, and defenselessness of the owners, nor with laissez faire and homelessness of tenants.
Either mine or chaos, this is where we areabove any type of consensus, empathy or otherness.
