Adif has announced that Tomorrow, Monday, normality will be restored in the circulation of Cercanías de Madrid and on the high-speed line with València and Murcia after 13,700 people were affected this Sunday by the cancellations and modifications of trains due to the derailment of a convoy without passengers on Saturday in the tunnel that connects the stations of Atocha and Chamartín .
Thus, The trains that connect both communities with Madrid will begin or end their journey at the Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor station.after the work carried out by the Adif and Renfe maintenance teams to repair the infrastructure elements damaged by the axles of one of the cars of a train that was running empty, without passengers.
The work concludes that the unaffected track in the tunnel between Atocha and Chamartín meets the necessary safety conditions so that the companies that operate in this railway corridor can recover their routes with origin and destination at the Chamartín station.
This means the recovery of the normal operations of these trains, which, in general, have their head office in Madrid at the Chamartín terminal (with the exception of some trains to or from Murcia); as well as all the services provided by the railway operators. The Madrid Cercanías core is not affected by this incidentso that all services will operate as planned.
