The PP spokesperson in the Senate, Alicia García, announced this Friday that if the Congressional Board does not rectify and the criminal record law is not voted on again in the Lower House, then the Upper House, in which his party has a majority, will raise a conflict of powers to the Constitutional Court.
García indicated this in a press conference in the Senateafter considering that it is “inadmissible” that the Congress Board has decided to publish the law that will allow some ETA members to compute their prison time in other EU countries for his conviction in Spain, ignoring that the Senate’s “veto” is endorsed by lawyers.
The PP spokesperson has reported that her group has registered a request for the Senate to formally require the Congressional Board to issue a rectificationand has announced that if it does not do so, they will go to the Constitutional Court through the conflict between constitutional bodies, something unprecedented between the two legislative chambers.
