Friday preachers at the state level stressed that the mental health of children and family members is a trust in the hands of parents and heads of families. They must give it the utmost care, attention and follow-up, just like physical health, so that homes are a place of comfort and a source of tranquility.
The allocation of the Friday sermon comes in the context of the participation of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat in the activities of the preliminary program of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Forum for Motherhood and Childhood on the mental health of mothers, children, adolescents and the family, which is organized by the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, Chairwoman of the Friday sermon. The General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, will be held on October 10 in Abu Dhabi.
In the unified sermon entitled “You have a right over yourself,” the preachers called on fathers and mothers to avoid transferring the problems and burdens of work and interactions in daily life from outside the homes to inside them and not to burden sons and daughters, husbands and wives with the consequences of the hardship that parents face in the details of their day. They warn that dealing with such matters without awareness and caution reflects negatively on the mental health of the children and the entire family and leaves effects that may extend in the long term to their happiness, stability and social well-being.
The preachers stressed the need for parents to leave all the pressures, difficulties, and ramifications of life outside the home, and to greet their families with good news and a smile, and to treat them with love and affection, gentleness and mercy, citing the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “For when God intends good for the family, Show them kindness.”
They also called on fathers and guardians to be careful to follow wisdom in their actions and to be patient in their dealings with their sons, daughters and wives, given that the father’s psychological state is a mirror of his household, the results of which are reflected on them, stressing the importance of householders ensuring that they are a source of happiness and contentment for their families that their members derive. The stability of their souls and the calmness of their nature brings goodness to them, brings reassurance to their souls, and has an impact on the formation of their personalities and their dealings with others.
The Friday preachers called on fathers to take care of their mental health and work to establish it in their homes and strengthen it among their wives and children in particular and in society in general, pointing in this context to the dream of the Prophet of God, Abraham, peace be upon him, whom God Almighty described by saying: (Indeed, Abraham was a weak man Lime), which is reflected as good On his descendants, as God Almighty said about him: (So We gave him good tidings of a gentle boy.)
The preachers pointed out that a good and healthy soul, balance and calm, are among the greatest blessings for a person, according to the words of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “A good soul is among the blessings,” and that true religion is the most important of psychological health It is an extreme goal, so he ordered taking measures to preserve it, and forbade everything that weakens it. Or it causes its fragility, recalling the words of God Almighty: “Indeed, he who purifies it has succeeded, and he who has trampled it has failed.”
They said in their sermons that a healthy, balanced soul is the source of a person’s happiness and his motivation towards achievement and success, and that what contributes to maintaining a person’s psychological health is getting closer to God God Almighty and familiarity with him, and perpetuating obedience to him and remembrance of him, according to the Almighty’s saying: “Indeed, in the remembrance of God are hearts at ease,” and the saying of the Messenger of God God said to his muezzin: “O Bilal, establish the prayer, and give us comfort with it.”
The preachers mentioned that one of the reasons for psychological comfort and heart reassurance is contentment with destiny and destiny, warning that the father should be one of those who, if adversity befalls him, or is overshadowed by a cloud of worries, makes the world black before his eyes He collapsed, his soul became distressed, and he surrendered to despair and despair, because God Almighty condemned this type in His saying: “And if evil befalls him, it will be a state of despair.”
The preachers enumerated the reasons that help a person to strengthen and support his mental health, including optimism and positivity, and not giving in to negative obsessions and obsessions, pointing out that the joy of goodness only brings it The occurrence of something bad attracts it, explaining in this context that the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, was impressed by good omen.
They called on parents to always expect goodness, and to think of God Almighty only as good, citing the Holy Hadith: “I am as My servant thinks of Me,” and to avoid imagining evil before it happens, and fearing illness before it arrives And anticipate poverty before it descends, because that is one of the whispers of Satan. Because God Almighty says: “Satan promises you poverty.”
They also called for a person not to live on past painful memories, because that hinders work and exhausts the soul, and to avoid fear of the future and anxiety about what is to come, because that is coming Satan deceived, “that those who believe may grieve,” also warning against comparison with others because it is contrary to contentment. This is confirmed by the hadith of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Successful has been he who converts to Islam and is provided with an adequate provision, and whom God is content with what He has given him.”
