Coach Filippenko advised doing head extensions against neck pain
Staying in one position for a long time at the computer and a sedentary lifestyle can cause neck pain, warned Roman Filippenko, an expert trainer at the Pride Fitness gym. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he told Russians three simple exercises for pain in the cervical spine.
First of all, the specialist advised people with a sedentary lifestyle to regularly extend their heads. To perform this exercise, you need to move your head forward as much as possible, then return it to its original position, and then move it back, creating a double chin. You need to repeat it for a minute.
Tilts of the head will help to cope with neck pain. Sit up straight and look ahead. Tilt your head towards your right shoulder 20 times in a row, then do similar tilts to the left. This exercise helps stretch the side muscles of the neck and improve their flexibility.
Also, if neck pain occurs, you should rotate your head for a minute, the expert trainer continued. To do this, you need to tilt your head first to one shoulder, then smoothly move it forward to the chest and then to the other shoulder, and then return to the starting position.
“Such simple exercises will help get rid of tension in the neck when working at the computer for long periods of time. In addition, they can be performed without leaving your workplace and thereby take care of your health. However, if you experience severe and acute pain from spending a long time at the computer, you should consult a doctor to receive qualified medical care,” the Lenta.ru interlocutor summed up.
