Star Wars Outlaws sold just over a million copies in its first month: although similar numbers could be welcomed with enthusiasm, in the case of the Ubisoft title they are results well below expectations.
Obviously the ones who weigh are the ones huge investments that the French company did for the creation of this ambitious tie-in, which probably aimed to achieve much more important objectives also considering the Star Wars license.
Probably the disappointing sales of Star Wars Outlaws contributed in a concrete way to making Ubisoft decide to postpone Assassin’s Creed Shadowsin an attempt to refine the experience as much as possible in order to avoid any controversy upon release.
Speaking of Assassin’s Creed, to make a comparison with the numbers of Outlaws it is enough to know that the adventure set in Baghdad it sold approximately five million copies in its first three monthswhile aiming to offer a decidedly drier structure than the previous chapters.
Is a relaunch possible?
It may be that the ratings assigned to Star Wars Outlaws by the international press, often conflicting, have affected the sales of the gamewhich at this point finds itself in the difficult situation of having to attempt an unlikely comeback.
We will see how Ubisoft will decide to move to promote this objective: the company will probably use promotionsalso trying to enhance the post-launch support path consisting of two interesting expansions: the first will be released on November 21st.
For the rest, you will already know what we think: in our review of Star Wars Outlaws we talked about an excellent title, capable of effectively bringing the atmosphere of the film saga to the screen.
