Night of terror in Carignano, a municipality of around nine thousand inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Turin. A man, for reasons still under investigation, attempted to commit a crime feminicide to the detriment of his wife.

While the woman was sleeping her husband repeatedly asked her hit with a hammer with the clear intent to end his life. After the attack, the man was convinced he had killed her and in turn attempted to take his own life. Yes it is indeed thrown from the third floor balcony of their home, making a flight of several metres.

Attempted feminicide in the Turin area: the neighbors raised the alarm

An attempted femicide occurred last night in Carignano, in the Turin area. A man hit his wife with a hammer while she was sleeping and then threw himself from the balcony of his house.

The alarm was raised by some people passing by who, passing nearby, noticed the man’s body lying lifeless on the asphalt. The 118 emergency services and the police promptly arrived at the scene of the dramatic episode and found the injured woman in bed.

The doctors who intervened immediately arranged for both spouses to be transferred to hospital. From the first information that emerged regarding the tragic episode, it would seem that the wife’s health conditions are not serious. Unlike, however, those of the husband who would be in life threatening due to the trauma and various fractures sustained during the fall of approximately ten metres.

Investigations underway

In addition to the medical workers, the medical staff also arrived at the site of the dramatic event carabinieri of the Moncalieri company. At the moment, the circumstances relating to the incident are not yet completely clear nor the reasons that pushed the man to proceed with the attempted femicide.

From the very first findings carried out by the military, it would appear that the man was suffering from depression in this last period. Both he and his wife appear to be two municipal employees.
