Ciudad Juarez.– The Chihuahuan Youth Institute (Ichijuv) will address the mental health of the youth population in Ciudad Juárez through the “Chidamente” program, which will offer free psychological care for the population between 12 and 29 years old.
This program focuses on problems such as anxiety, depression and suicide prevention, said Fernanda Martínez, head of the department.
“The program is based on a youth perspective, recognizing the importance of offering a safe and accessible space for young people to express their concerns and receive professional support,” said the state official.
“Chiamente” is characterized by its focus on brief therapy, which seeks to resolve emotional problems through a treatment of between 8 and 10 sessions.
This model aims to provide solutions quickly and effectively, minimizing pain and waiting time for those seeking help.
The care is completely free, which facilitates access to psychological services that are often considered a privilege due to their high costs.
Martinez stressed the relevance of these programs in a context where the mental health of young people is often neglected.
“Our governor has emphasized the need for comprehensive health care, and with ‘MediChihuahua’, which offers free health services, we are joining this effort to address mental health in Chihuahua’s youth,” he explained.
The collaboration with “MediChihuahua” ensures that young people can access a professional service without the burden of costs that are usually associated with psychological consultations.
Those interested in receiving psychological care can register and schedule appointments through the Institute’s digital platforms.
In addition to the “Chidamente” program, the Institute also has the “Impulsando Juventudes” initiative, which focuses on supporting young entrepreneurs.
Supporting dreams and projects
This program has been well received and differentiates itself from other policy efforts by focusing on the real needs of young people.
“Our governor, Maru Campos, has shown a clear commitment to young people, supporting their dreams and projects,” said Martínez.
The “Impulsando Juventudes” program not only provides financial support, but also offers advice and resources so that entrepreneurs can develop their own businesses.
Among the notable cases is the support for an athlete who will represent Mexico at the World Karate Championship in Venice, Italy.
These types of initiatives underline the state government’s commitment to fostering the personal and professional development of Chihuahua’s youth.
Martinez stressed that it is essential not only to support them in their business aspirations, but also to take care of their emotional well-being.
The intersection of mental health and personal development is essential to creating an enabling environment for young people to thrive.
With a growing concern for mental health in society, programs such as “Chidamente” and “Impulsando Juventudes” seek to offer practical and accessible solutions.
Finally, the Chihuahua Youth Institute continues to explore new strategies to reach more young people in Ciudad Juárez and other areas of the state.
“Mental health care is considered a priority, and the initiatives implemented reflect a constant effort by the Government to address this critical need among young people,” said the head of Ichijuv.
