Bad weather in almost all of Italy in these first days of autumn: the civil protection issues the weather alert
Today marks the official start of autumn, and the weather leaves no doubt about the seasonal change. The weather conditions of the last few days have anticipated the final farewell to the beautiful season. Even for tomorrow, Tuesday 24 September, the bad weather will not give a break. The Civil Protection has issued aWeather Alert yellow which will affect a large part of the peninsula.
The warning predicts scattered rainfall and thunderstorms that will hit numerous regions from north to south. The alert concerns Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Basilicata, Veneto, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Puglia and Lazio. All affected by adverse weather phenomena, including storms, hydraulic and hydrogeological risks.
Although the disturbance that characterized the weekend is expected to move away, a partial improvement in weather conditions will be visible only in some areas. Tomorrow will see alternating sun and clouds over much of Italy. Possible thunderstorms in the North-East, in eastern Liguria, along the Tyrrhenian regions and in Salento in the early hours of the morning. In the afternoon and evening, scattered phenomena will affect the eastern Alps, with isolated rains in Lombardy, Liguria, upper Tuscany and the internal and Adriatic areas of the Center.
Temperatures, on the other hand, will show a general increase, especially in the North-West, along the central Adriatic and in the South, with peaks of up to 30°C in the southern regions and in Sicily. However, the return of the sun will not be stable and autumn will also be felt in the coming days with new waves of bad weather.
The arrival of autumn brings with it not only a drop in temperatures and a change in the colors of the landscape, but also greater atmospheric instability. The hydrogeological risk, linked above all to intense rainfall and sudden storms, remains high, requiring maximum attention especially in areas subject to landslides and floods.
The Civil Protection invites the population to stay informed about weather updates and to follow the safety instructions, especially in the regions affected by the alert. The period that has just begun is therefore announced as a season characterized by continuous climatic changes, between days of intense rain and moments of relative respite.
With nature changing its face, it is time to prepare for a new phase of the year. Autumn brings with it not only the charm of its colors, but also the umbrella at hand.
