The team of Saber Interactive comes from a solid success: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is beloved by critics and audiences. The result is also pushing the team to rethink the way it develops video games. Of course, this also leads us to wonder if the company will recalibrate the way it is working on the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Republicor Star Wars KOTOR if you prefer.
Speaking to IGN USA, Saber Interactive commented on the matter, saying that they will be talking about the project when she feels ready.
Saber Interactive’s words on Star Wars: Knights of the Republic
The CCO Tim Willits told IGN USA: “We’re focused on development right now. We can’t wait to share more when the time is right.” There’s no release date set, but at least the project is moving forward.
Let us remember that Star Wars: Knights of the Republic – Remake, based on the acclaimed BioWare RPG, was originally in development at Aspyr Media. However, after some internal issues and, according to reports, some dissatisfaction with the project from the upper echelons (who promptly fired design director Brad Prince and art director Jason Minor), the game was delayed indefinitely. Embracer Group, which still owns Aspyr, has not commented on the game’s progress.
After Saber Interactive parted ways with Embracer, they assured players that the remake is “alive and well” and that they are committed to exceeding expectations. They recently listed it as one of their “upcoming” games.
