Venezuela ratifies the arrest warrant against the Argentine president, Xavier Milei. He is accused of “heist” of a plane Venezuelan cargo ship confiscated in Buenos Aires and handed over to USA.
Following the request of the arrest warrant by the prosecution, a court of first instance of Caracas issued the document, which has been endorsed by the Criminal Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.
The request was made on September 18 by the Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, who asked arrest warrant against MileiPatricia Bullrich, Minister of Security, and Karina Milei, Secretary General of the Presidency.
Milei and his ministers are accused of “aggravated robberymoney laundering, simulation of punishable acts, unlawful deprivation of liberty, unlawful interference in the operational safety of civil aviation, use of aircraft and association.”
The aircraftpurchased by Venezuela Iranian airline Mahan Air has been detained in Buenos Aires since June 2022 by a court order during the government of leftist Alberto Fernández.
The crew, made up of 14 Venezuelans and five Iranians, were prohibited from leaving the country until October 2022. In February of this year, the seizure of the vessel was completed. plane by part of USAa measure previously authorized by a judge.
