Defense of MMA fighter from Grozny Chichaev appealed his arrest in the shootout case
The defense of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Umar Chichaev from Grozny has filed a complaint against the court’s decision to arrest him in a criminal case concerning a shootout near the Wildberries office. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The Basmanny Court of Moscow, which chose a preventive measure for the athlete on September 20, registered an appeal filed by his lawyer.
The Moscow City Court, which will review the legality of the lower court’s decision, must set a date for hearing the complaint.
At the hearing to select a preventive measure, it was revealed that Chichaev serves as deputy commander of the Chechen OMON unit.
The attack on the Wildberries head office took place on the morning of September 18. As a result of the armed conflict, seven people were injured, including two law enforcement officers who responded to the call.
