A space-age Renault van has arrived! It is theEstafette Concepta prototype that anticipates Renault’s vision for the future electric vans dedicated to last mile deliveries. This vehicle combines the compactness of a Kangoo L2 with the loading volume of a Traffic L1H2offering a design conceived for the city but at the same time spacious. Developed with the feedback of professional operators, it is fully electric and connected, based on the platform Ampere FlexEVan.
Estafette Concept, heir to the 1959 Renault van
The Estafette Concept, modern heir of the 1959 Renault vanshares with its predecessor not only the round headlights but also the spirit of innovation and practicality. The design of the new model is characterised by smooth and technological shapes, with a grille band that underlines the brand’s identity, and a “Nouvel’R” logo backlit.
The front features large round headlights with 3D treatment and one black band which integrates a camera. The extended windshield and generous windows improve visibility and safety. The contrasting colored roof with the bodywork adds a distinctive touch and reduces the perception of the vehicle’s height.
Van of the future, load capacity
L’Estafette Concept inaugurates new electric platform FlexEVandestined to innovate the commercial vehicle sector. The Estafette Concept measures 4.87 meters in length And 1.92 meters widewith a turning circle of just over 10 metres, similar to the Kangoo L2. With aheight of 2.59 metersoffers enough space to stand both in the cabin and in the cargo area.
The latter has a capacity of 7.1 cubic metersequal to that of the Trafic L1H2. It is separated from the cabin by a automatic sliding doorThe cargo area is equipped with four tilting shelves and rolling shutter-type sliding doors that facilitate loading and unloading operations without taking up space. The rear hatch opens automatically to reveal a step/platform, and deliveries can also be made through the side doors.
Renault Estafette Concept Cockpit
The Estafette Concept’s cabin is designed with a single seat for the driver, which can rotate to the right to easily transition to an upright position, maintainable by those up to 30 inches tall. 1.9 metersThe driving position is raised and the footboard houses seven storage compartments.
The dashboard includes a 7 inch display for the dashboard and one 12 inch screen tilted towards the driver, with physical buttons for some functions both at the bottom of the screen and on the steering wheel. In place of the rearview mirrors there are two cameras with internal displays, while the cylindrical design of the dashboard allows for the addition of storage modules.
Renault Van 100% connected
Estafette Concept It is the first Renault Group vehicle to integrate the architecture SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) developed by Ampere. This architecture enables a direct connection to the cloud, offering continuous updates, access to new services and learning from driving habits, helping to reduce the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) by approximately 30%.
There SDV technology increases vehicle customization and supports high-performance power supply, with three high-power electrical outlets for special setups.
The modularity of the software adapts to the existing infrastructure for fleets and allows software updates without modifying the hardwarethus improving the efficiency and safety of electric vehicles.
It is a concept car but its lines will be found in the future on one of the new Renault commercial vehicle models.
