La Paz, Baja California Sur.- Two runs in the bottom of the ninth, driven in by Yadir Drake and Brandon Jaime helped Algodoneros de Guasave come back from behind and leave Cañeros de Los Mochis on the fieldby beating them 8-7, in a game held on the last day of the Baja Series tournament, held in the city of La Paz.
With this result, Algodoneros had a 3-1 record in this first tournament that it faces in the preseason and in the process took away Cañeros’ undefeated record, to share credits at the top of this event, by finishing with a similar record.
In that ninth inning, Yadir Drake, who went 2-2 with a home run and two RBIspushed the tying run with a single to center, setting the table for pinch-hitter Brandon Jaime to drive in the winning run with a hit on Bryan Cota’s spikes.
Pitchers
For Guasave, Oscar Rojas opened, pitching one inning; he was followed by Jorge Monroy, Vidal Sotelo, Ian Medina, Jesus Broca, Jeff Ibarra, Christian Crespo, Jesus Huerta and the winner Carlos Morales.
The Cañeros starter was Juan Mateo, who pitched four innings; the rest were pitched by Omar Araujo, Rigoberto Borbolla, Miguel León, Luis Pérez, Vicente Villavicencio, Marco Fregozo and the defeated Edwin Zamudio.

Algodoneros took the lead in the first inning with a run, lwhich Yadir Drake scored, who after receiving walks, stole second and third, ringing with an error by the catcher in an attempt to get him out at third base.
Cañeros turned the game around in the second inning, with a three-run attack. Two runs came in with an error by Andrés Villa on a hit by Elías Verdugo, who then scored with a double by Roel Santos. In the fourth inning, the Greens scored two more, thanks to a double by Damián Mora.
Algodoneros came dangerously close in the fifth inning, with a three-run rally. Alan López and Andrés Villa scored consecutively with wild pitches by Miguel León.
Yadir Drake drove in the fourth run on the spikes of Victor Rodriguez, with a sacrifice fly to left.
Los Mochis scored another run in the sixth, with Damián Mora’s second double of the game, who at that point reached three RBIs in the game.
In the seventh, Drake responded again by hitting a solo home run to center, bringing Algodoneros within 5-6.
Pinch hitter Roberto Carlos Méndez drove in the seventh run for the Greens in the eighth inning.
Elmer López closed the scoring in the eighth inning, driving in Algodoneros’ sixth run with a single to right, with which Ibrahim Favela scored.
