The remake of Silent Hill 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8th. For the moment, the work of Bloober Team and Konami can only be enjoyed on these two platforms, leaving Xbox users out of the loop. However, this won’t be forever, and We finally know when PlayStation’s console exclusivity will end.
Recently, PlayStation shared a new trailer for the remake of Silent Hill 2, where we can see the DualSense functions in action. The interesting thing is that in the end it is confirmed that PS5 exclusivity will end on August 10, 2025that is, almost a year after its original release.
Now, This doesn’t mean we’ll see a launch on Xbox Series X|S on August 11, 2025. At the end of the day, the decision to take the remake of Silent Hill 2 to other platforms falls entirely on Konami. Let us remember that this is the same case of Final Fantasy VII Remakewhich is no longer exclusive to PlayStation, but is not yet available on Microsoft consoles.
We can only wait to see what Konami will do with the remake of Silent Hill 2. We remind you that this title will arrive on PS5 and PC on October 8, 2024. On a related note, you can watch over an hour of gameplay here. The game will also feature multiple display options.
Author’s Note:
Exclusivity of this type is a complicated issue, since companies make this decision depending on the commercial success of a game. Thus, if Konami does not believe that the remake of Silent Hill 2 sells on Xbox, then it won’t come to this platform.
