The proposal submitted by Israel to the United States states:
- Release all Israeli hostages at once.
- Securing the exit of Sinwar from Gaza, along with everyone who wishes to leave the Strip.
- Release of Palestinian prisoners.
- Disarming the Gaza Strip.
- Implementing another governance mechanism in the sector.
- End the war.
The Israeli coordinator for prisoners and missing persons affairs, Gal Hirsch, met with the families of the hostages and informed them of the new proposal.
At the meeting, Hirsch said that “the broad outlines were presented during his meetings last week with US officials at the White House and the US State Department.
According to the broadcaster’s sources, the proposal was called the “Safe Corridor Deal.”
A senior Israeli official commented on the matter, saying: “In light of the difficulties facing the negotiations and the clock ticking on the lives of the hostages, we would like to propose a secondary plan (Plan B) that would shorten the stages and allow for a faster deal if Sinwar leaves and the war ends.”
“This will allow us to achieve the goals of the war, and allow the Hamas leadership in Gaza to leave safely,” he added.
Next week, more than 30 family members of Israeli hostages are expected to attend the UN General Assembly.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reiterated that stopping the Gaza war is the only way to end tensions in the region.
