In recent years, the Mexican national team has competed with the United States to recruit young talent who are legally qualified to represent both nations. In most cases, these are players born in the country of the stars and stripes, but who have Mexican ancestry. Both teams have won and lost various battles and it seems that the most recent one, Richard Ledezma, is heading in favor of those now led by Pochettino.
Rene Tovar from Récord reports that the directors representing El Tri have contacted the 23-year-old PSV player to inform him that there are intentions to add him to the Mexican National Team under Javier Aguirre’s management. Unfortunately for the national team, the PSV president did not open the door in the way that was expected, as his initial response has been a rejection for Mexico, since his priority is to play with the United States in the nascent era of Mauricio Pochettino.
During his most complex stage in terms of sport, Ledezma was not only not a starter for PSV, he even went out on loan, a time in which he received no contact from the FMF, but he did from the people in the United States. Now that the full-back is part of the Eredivise champion’s starting eleven, El Tri has made a move to sign him, however, in the player’s mind lives the gratitude he has for Team USA, who have been there since the times of uncertainty.
