The encore of Piastri
The well-deserved success achieved in the streets of Baku represented for Oscar Plates his second win of the season (and obviously his second ever in F1). The Australian McLaren driver has thus reached two victories this year Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and his own teammate, Landon Norris. Standing ahead of them, with seven victories, Max Verstappen.
Welcome back 2012
In 2024, there have been seven different winners so far, including the triumphs of Carlos Sainz in Australia and George Russell in Austria, but this is the data double winners what is most striking: it was in fact since 2012, in a single F1 season there were not five drivers with at least two wins each.
Sprint finish?
In that year, remembered for the seven different winners in the first seven GPs, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Button and Webber each climbed to the top step of the podium at least twice. With the current scoring system (25 points per win) the only other similar situation is that of 2010, with five overall winners at the end of the season, all with two or more wins each. In both cases the world title was awarded in the last GP of the season: the protagonists are warned.
