Black is black, but the big change is silver and green. Mercedes will arrive at the Singapore Grand Prix, at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this weekend, with a livery that is not that different from the usual in concept, but it will be different in terms of visuals.
The W15s of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, in fact, will be equipped with a new graphic design to celebrate 50 years of Petronas, a long-term partner of the team managed by Toto Wolff which supplies lubricants and fuel for the power units that are built in Brixworth.
The Black-Silver Arrows will become black-emerald green for a weekend. The green of Petronas, sponsor of Mercedes since 2010, therefore 14 years in which both managed to dominate Formula 1 for 8 years, bringing home Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles in series creating the longest domination in the history of the world Circus.

Mercedes chose to pay homage to Petronas in Singapore because it is very close to Kuala Lumpur, home of Petronas, given the absence of Sepang from the calendar, which has now been out for several years.
“Our partnership with Petronas is our longest and still going strong. And for any company to reach 50 years of history is an incredible milestone,” said Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff.
“The livery is not only a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Petronas’ founding, but also a reflection of the importance Petronas has in our team’s history and is a beautiful way to honour our journey together.”
