The 21st National Conference of CoDAU opens tomorrow at Palazzo Vecchio, with the title “The University of the Future between Humanism, Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance”. CoDAU is the body that represents the General Directors and managers of all Italian universities, both state and non-state. The Conference will continue on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st September, at the Novoli Social Sciences University Campus of the University of Florence. At the opening, with the President of CoDAU, Alberto Scuttari, there will be the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, the Mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, the Rector of the University of Florence, Alessandra Petrucci, the President of CRUI, Giovanna Iannantuoni, the President of ANVUR, Antonio Felice Uricchio.
The central themes of the Conference, which sees already over three hundred and fifty accredited with the presence of a delegation of the General Directors of French universitieswill be the ways in which the university system, together with the most important national and international stakeholders, can effectively guide the change generated by artificial intelligence and data governance, facilitating innovation and the development of adequate skills.
During the networking moments of the Conference, delegates will be able to visit the Villa Medicea in Poggio a Caiano and participate, at Villa Castelletti, in the awarding of the “Clara Coviello” Innovation Prize.
On the eve of the opening of the National Convention the President of CoDAU, Alberto Scuttari stated: “Digital transformation is a reality that leads universities to live this historic season with constant training to face a change that leaves behind many logics that have until now created beliefs, balances, expectations. In this context, CoDAU focuses its reflection on the ways in which university management can effectively guide change, facilitating innovation and the development of adequate skills. We need to think about how to manage data responsibly, how to exploit artificial intelligence to benefit research and teaching and, above all, how to maintain the function of the university as a driver of innovation, inclusion and social growth.”.
