Olkiluoton the electricity production of the nuclear power plant’s second reactor was suspended on Monday morning. The cause was reported to be a generator failure.
The announcement of the suspension came a little after seven in the morning. According to it, electricity production will be stopped for more than 17 hours until half past one in the morning on Tuesday.
The reason for the suspension has not been stated.
Olkiluoto is located in Satakunta on the Eurajoki river. Olkiluoto’s first reactor was commissioned in 1978 and the second in 1980. Olkiluoto 3 started up at full power in the spring of 2023.
