21 years old, the same great passion as his father and a tragic fate. Ryota Haga, second son of the great Noriyuki Haga, died today while he was busy practicing his profession, that of a pilot.
Ryota, who was competing in the All Japan ST600, the Japanese Supersport series, this year was involved in an accident a few moments after the start of the race which was held on the Autopolis circuit, a track located near Kamitsue, a village in Oita prefecture.
The young Haga unfortunately stopped once the lights went out. Two drivers who were starting a few positions further back were unable to avoid him and hit him.
The 21-year-old was immediately rescued by paramedics, who, however, after having airlifted Ryota to Kurume hospital for first aid, were unable to do anything to save the young man’s life.
Ryota, who had also raced in Italy, in the Italian Speed Championship, was competing in the Japanese Supersport, but this year he had also made his debut in the JSB1000, the national Superbike thanks to the good results obtained in the cadet class.
Ryota, this year, was racing on a Yamaha R6 of the NitroRacing41 team. His passing was also made official by his older brother Akito, also a rider and competing in the JSB1000 class, through three stories published on his Instagram account.
The entire Motorsport.com editorial team sends their deepest and most sincere condolences to the Haga family.
