This Saturday (7), at the Stade de France, in Paris, Jerusa Geber from Acre gave yet another demonstration that, at 42 years of age, she is living the peak of her sporting career, as she won yet another gold medal at the Paris Paralympic Games, this time in the 200 meters T11 class (intended for the visually impaired) with a time of 24s51, equaling the Paralympic record of British Libby Clegg, who achieved the same mark at the Rio Games (2016).
Jerusa, who arrived in Paris without any Paralympic gold medals on her resume, had already won the 100-meter T11 event in the French capital. Until then, the Acre native had four medals at the Paralympic Games: two silvers and two bronzes.

I still can’t believe it”, said the Brazilian, who beat the Chinese athlete Liu Cuiqing, world record holder in the race and who clocked 24s86 to take silver, and Lahja Ishitile, from Namídia, who took bronze with a time of 25s04.
Bronze medal
Another Brazilian achievement in athletics this Saturday was the bronze medal won by Thomaz Ruan from São Paulo in the 400-meter race in the T47 class (arm amputees). He achieved a time of 47.97 seconds, behind only two Moroccans, Ayoub Sadni, silver with 47.16 seconds, and Aymane El Haddaoui, gold with 46.65 seconds.
