The debate on which is the best Final Fantasy is eternal. While fans will always have their favorite title, many want to know what the creators of the series think, something that was recently revealed. Through a recent interview with Inverse, Hironobu Sakaguchi, father of the franchise, revealed which game he considers to be the most “complete,” and it’s not about Final Fantasy VII.
During his talk, Sakaguchi was asked about what Final Fantasy game he considers “complete,” in the sense of the overall experience and everything the team set out to do at the time. To the surprise of no fan, The developer mentioned that this honor is well deserved Final Fantasy VI. This is what he had to say about it:
“In terms of the Final Fantasy that I think is the ‘most complete’, I think Final Fantasy 6 comes close and stands out above the other Final Fantasy games, especially since it was the last Final Fantasy to utilize pixel art throughout its visual expression.”
This is a great achievement, since even Sakaguchi has mentioned that his favorite game in the series is Final Fantasy IX, But it was the sixth installment that represented the high point of the property up to that point.and the developers were able to implement all their ideas, and more, in form.
While we know that Square Enix is currently working on the remake of Final Fantasy VIImany fans want the sixth installment to have a similar treatment, something that, According to Yoshinori Kitase, it would take them 20 years to complete. On related topics, Sakaguchi talks about returning to work on Final Fantasy. The director is also already working on a new project.
Author’s Note:
As a fan of Final Fantasy VII totally agree with Sakaguchi. Titles like Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X They’re great, but the sixth installment will always stand out for how great it is in every aspect.
