The Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, confirmed that the offers made by private sector companies to employ violators of residency laws will continue.
He said the administration had received many requests from private companies to provide job opportunities for violators who wished to remain in the country.
He called on anyone who has experienced a crisis during their stay, visit or presence in the country to go to the Violators’ Status Settlement Centre in Al Aweer, or one of the “Amer” centres spread throughout Dubai, stressing that “any violator, no matter how complex his problem is, will find a satisfactory solution.”
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai called on violators who wish to settle their status and leave the country not to book their travel tickets before obtaining an exit permit, to ensure the completion of their procedures, which may require a maximum of 48 hours.
Al-Emarat Al-Youm monitored violators who went to the Violators’ Status Settlement Centre in Al-Aweer area in Dubai, carrying their luggage and airline tickets, with the aim of adjusting their status and leaving immediately.
The Assistant Director General of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector in the Department, Major General Salah Al Qamzi, confirmed that the fines for violators will be completely zeroed before the beginning of September, and that there is no reason to worry about visiting the settlement centers.
He also called on them to obtain information only from official sources.
He stated that those wishing to amend their status must have obtained a job in one of the companies and go to one of the “Amer” centers to amend their status.
He pointed out that “the nature of the country requires, when applying for a job, to communicate with companies in advance, and send them a CV through the available methods and means. After obtaining approval, one can come to them, but many come and wander the streets and roads aimlessly in search of job opportunities.”
Al Qamzi confirmed that the time required to issue exit permits has been reduced from 10 days to 48 hours, to facilitate the procedures for violators wishing to leave the country as quickly as possible, after settling their status.
