Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has been ruled out of France’s Nations League clash with a foot injury.
Tchouameni, 24, left the French camp and returned to Real Madrid to undergo further medical tests, but the injury does not appear serious.
Tchouameni started all four of Real Madrid’s La Liga games, having played five times for France at Euro 2024, when they reached the semi-finals, but will miss the Nations League games against Italy and Belgium.
Tchouameni became the second Real Madrid player to withdraw from the France squad after left-back Ferland Mendy, who is suffering from a shin injury. France coach Didier Deschamps decided to call up Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Digne to his squad instead of Tchouameni and Mendy.
