The man accused of the disappearance and murder of the woman is husband David Knezevicha 36-year-old Serbian manager who would have joined Ana Maria in Spain (where she wanted to start a new life after the separation), he allegedly killed her and loaded her into a rented car. The letter from the woman’s family
«We thank infinitely the press for having taken an interest in Ana’s disappearance, so much so as to contribute to solve most of the mystery”. This is what the family of Ana Maria Knezevich wrote in a message made public by Evening Courier. “The discovery of many elements was made possible by the love of friends more expensive, which prompted them to take immediate action by reporting to the police and insisting that the text messages sent after February 2 were suspicious.”
In fact, the woman disappeared from her apartment in Madrid on February 2, 2024. That evening, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet was seen entering and exiting his home with a large suitcase inside which, the Spanish police believe, there was the body by Ana Maria. And that man was David Knezevich.
The text messages that the family is referring to, however, concern messages that arrived to some friends of the missing woman in which she told of having met a man and ran away with him, in what might have seemed like a love escape. Spanish agents believe, once again, that Knezevich is behind all this. He was the one who sent the text messages.
The relatives again: “Thanks also to the authorities around the world who are working together 24 hours a day to find Ana. Thank you for your efforts, attention and determination in searching for her and for taking her cause to heart.” The heiress’s brother said that two days ago Ana Maria would become an aunt.
The elements that lead to the husband
Spanish police immediately suspected David Knezevich of the murder of his wife (even though there is no body yet) because of the alleged motive: the two were separating and there was a millionaire’s fortune at stake. But this is not the only reason why investigators focused on the man: there are also his movements verified by some gps detections.
From the US, where Knezevich lived, the man allegedly flew to Belgrade. There, he allegedly rented a car (which he changed the license plate to) and headed to Madrid. Once he committed the murder, he allegedly drove back to Serbia. During this second trip, David allegedly dumped Ana Maria’s body along the Vicenza mountain road. Finally, from Belgrade he would take a flight to Miamiwhere it was arrested.
It was discovered in Italy by rental car gps device. Knezevich did not want the car to have a detection system, but the car did have one that could send a message to the property in case of danger, such as a accident or one tampering. And that’s what happened: the car Knezevich was driving was tracked on the Italian road, perhaps following a crash or damage suffered.
